I'm Devon (fka Brittany), a video game professional with a background in communications and business. I’ve been in the industry since 2017. I’m currently looking for a new opportunity in test leadership or production. I dream up and implement wild schemes for efficiency, create frameworks for better teams, advocate for players and my people, and wrangle documentation, among other things.

When I'm not breaking games, I enjoy making art, sewing, writing, and a variety of other creative things, like playing mechanical keyboards and refurbishing typewriters.

Professional Experience

CONTRACT QA TESTER

Ironwood Studios   |   November 2023 – February 2024

Identified, reproduced, and documented issues in Notion project database.

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

Drifter Entertainment   |   February 2023 – July 2023

Proposed process improvements, designed new workflows, optimized documentation, and petitioned leadership for an upgrade and implementation of Confluence.

TEST LEAD

Bungie   |   November 2021 – February 2023

Promoted to a broader leadership role, managing and collaborating with teams to ensure and report on performance for QA leadership with end-to-end ownership of testing programs.

  • Concurrently managed three teams, including one that was using external resources to complete 20+ monthly tests beyond those conducted by third-party contractor and full-time test teams.

  • Championed the transition of the contractor test lead role into a full-time position to minimize seasonal resource turnover and knowledge loss.

  • Advocated for consolidation of multiple test teams to ease staffing issues outside annual content testing periods, with ~70% of contract testers who applied for full-time roles hired to retain tester knowledge and experience.

  • Created onboarding frameworks for test contractors, which became the basis for new-hire onboarding and training.

ASSOCIATE TEST LEAD

Bungie   |   June 2020 – November 2021

Created and implemented the first of multiple framework structures, which transformed test teams from disorganized and struggling to enable the most proactive console coverage on any annual release.

  • Constructed contractor onboarding, training, and rotation scheduling with a standardized forms-based system for data collection.

  • Collected data on feature functionality from each owner, used by testers to rank their preferences for features testing assignments.

  • Combined data to streamline scheduling and improve productivity and morale, with testers having a say in their preferred work assignments.

  • Introduced basic tracking to monitor individual assignments, measure team output, and collect biweekly performance feedback surveys.

  • Facilitated the discovery and correction of 500% more issues far earlier in the development process by enabling team-testing to be conducted up to four months ahead of past releases.

QA TESTER

Bethesda Softworks   |   June 2017 – June 2020

Identified and documented functional issues in project databases, including TFS, Hansoft, and Jira databases. Collaborated in online environments to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems. Documented and maintained test plans.
